Thank you for your interest in submitting a session proposal for the Annual Midwest Association for Latin American Studies (MALAS) Conference titled, Democracy, Human Rights, and Environmental Justice in Latin America: Past, Present, and Future / Democracia, derechos humanos y justicia ambiental en América Latina: pasado, presente y futuro.
The 2019 MALAS Conference will take place on October 10-12, 2019, in Springfield, Illinois, at the campus of the University of Illinois Springfield.
The program will consist primarily of presentations selected through this open call for submissions. Depending on the topic to be discussed, the presentations may be in English or Spanish. In addition, there will be invited speakers and panel discussions.
The 2019 conference marks the 69th edition of the conferences. This conference provides an opportunity for scholars (faculty, researchers, students) in Latin American matters to contribute towards better understanding of all things Latin American, from literature to politics to human rights, and more.
